*nods solemnly.  Then scoffs.*

I’ll be honest, you just made things sound incredibly bleak.

*takes a moment to think.*

Okay, yeah, we’ve kind of got a lot of problems to contend with right now, but…we’ve just gotta deal with everything one at a time, you know? Not let it overwhelm us.  Looking at it like that might not….. I mean, it’s realistic.  There are all these things going against us.  But we’ve got a lot of stuff working for us, too.  Like I said, this is a group of people who’ve done the impossible.  On, might I add, multiple occasions.  I mean, every single one of you, you’re all…*searching for the word, waving his hands about.* amazing.  I mean you’re all fantastic.  You really are.  If there’s one group of people who could solve these issues, it’s you guys.  You’ve got the brain, the brawn, and everything in between.  And even though we don’t necessarily trust them, we’ve got S.H.I.E.L.D. too, which is also kind of extraordinary.  And even if we don’t have the entire organization backing us, we have Agents Romanoff, Barton, Coulson, and Hill.  We have Hill, right? I don’t think I’ve met her.  Either way, my point is? For all the problems we have working against us…we’re a pretty incredible force to be reckoned with.

*smiles and spreads his hands.*

We got this.

*laughs* I’m sorry. Inherent talent, even when I’m not trying to be bleak I sound bleak.

*collects himself and nods* You’re right. It’s a lot to juggle, but we’re…*rubs his face as he searches for the right word* uniquely suited to all these situations. It’ll take some time, but we’ll figure it out. None of us really shy from heavy work loads.

*smiles* This is still so…weird. Being on a team.

*laughs.*  Tell me about it.

*pauses and he looks out to the distance.*

It’s strange.  But nice.  Really, really nice.

Yeah. *leans back into his chair and looks up at the ceiling* Never thought I’d see the day, but…it’s what the world needs. Guess we personally need it too.

*same kind of awestruck crooked smile on his face.*  Yeah…

*comes back to earth, tone returning to normal as well.*

Boy, we’re really strange.  The way we make friends.   *laughs.*  But, hey, everyone’s got their own ways of going about things.
