Spider-Man
Hey. The name's Peter Parker and welcome to my page. Considering that this font is set to always be capitalized, so it looks like I'm yelling - and I'm not - why don't you come here to learn more about me. I mean, if you wanna.

Checking out the Information

*finishes off his cannoli without ruining any more of his shirt or floor, and heads back to the lab with Peter*

*when they get there he motions for Peter to take a seat as he takes out the SD card Natasha gave him, spending a few minutes bringing up the information on the screen*

*stares at the screen as he speaks* His name was—is Ted Sallis. Biochemist. Did work specializing in trying to grant immunity to toxic biochemicals, got assigned to Project: Gladiator. Natasha said that what he did, he did on his own, which…*sighs*…same old, same old.

Hmm. These notes do indicate an attempt at recreating the serum… *sits back in his seat* None of this accounts for his connection to the nexus itself, though. His reactions—from what I remember—don’t indicate planning on his part so much as instinct. When a possible threat gets too close to the nexus, he activates and…works to stop that threat.

Did you have any luck reasoning with him? My memories of that whole event revolve around trying to squeeze what passes for his head and fighting off a lot of tendrils.

*puffs out air and shakes his head upon hearing how the guy ended up the way he did.*

A little bit? He didn’t really attack me much.  I mean, I got…roars.

Roars were common.  But he seemed to really only be attacking people who attacked him first.  And Loki.  Well, he did go after me once but that was after I webbed his mouth shut so that he would listen to me which, okay, really bad idea.

So I guess I didn’t really? But then again we didn’t have much of a chance to try.  Situation just wasn’t right.  He started attacking Loki immediately which affected all of us and then…everything inevitably got hectic.

*shakes his head* I don’t know…between what he did to himself and being connected to the nexus on top of that…I’m not sure if there is anything to attempt to reason with. Everything he does is a reaction to perceived tampering with the nexus or to being attacked.

The problem becomes that even if we had a method to get Fury out of the nexus, we wouldn’t be able to approach the perimeter without triggering him. And right now that’s a big if. If it’s really a nexus of all realities there is no limit to where Fury might have ended up and no trail for us to follow. I don’t even know where we would begin to narrow down infinite possibilities. *ponders that for a second* Tony might have some ideas about that, I’ll have to ask him at some point.

*frowns as he scours the information, doesn’t seem to be finding anything of particular use to them* We need to find Fury, though. I don’t like thinking about the possibilities of a SHIELD without him long term…and I’m not all that fond of SHIELD to begin with.

That’s…very disheartening and…probable.

Well, wait a minute.  Didn’t Thor say, before we went to battle the swamp thing…guy…person, that he was flying around it…him…for a while, and it…he….whatever didn’t attack him? That it just stayed dormant?

Granted Thor wasn’t working with the nexus, but it’s apparently possible to at least approach it.  …But we are intending to work with the nexus so i- *SIGH.*

How did this guy even end up guarding this thing? I mean, if he started out as a regular person, what is he doing there specifically? Why is he doing that job?
